Cymbidium Paradisian Planet 'Black Lip' – August-Flowering Miniature with Spotted Lip
Cymbidium Paradisian Planet 'Black Lip' is a selected cultivar from the grex Cymbidium Paradisian Planet, registered in 2015 by Paradisia Nurs. It is the result of a cross between Cymbidium Red Planet and Cymbidium devonianum. This miniature hybrid produces long, cascading spikes bearing over 30 flowers per spike, each approximately 5 cm wide. The blooms feature two-tone pink petals and a heavily spotted dark lip, typically flowering in August. Best suited to baskets or pots under protected conditions, this cultivar is well adapted to cool to temperate climates.
Care Notes
- Position: Bright filtered light or morning sun
- Water: Keep moist during active growth; reduce slightly in winter
- Potting: Use a free-draining orchid bark mix; do not plant in-ground
- Feeding: Apply balanced orchid fertiliser fortnightly in growth; switch to bloom formula in late autumn
- Climate: Prefers cool to temperate conditions; protect from frost
- Repotting: Every 2–3 years after flowering or when pot-bound

- Treatment & Delay: These orders require biosecurity treatment and certification, which is completed each Friday. Please allow an additional 1–2 weeks for processing.
Plant Health Certification (PHAC) Fees
- $20 fee applies to WA orders.
- $10 fee applies to NT and TAS orders.
- This fee is per order (not per plant) and is included in your shipping cost at checkout.
