Adromischus 'Little Spheroid' is an adorable succulent that captures hearts with its plump, button-like leaves. This delightful miniature is native to South Africa and is a fantastic addition to any succulent collection, bringing a touch of whimsy and charm to your home.
Distinctive Features
- Leaves: Small, spherical leaves that resemble tiny buttons. The leaves are typically 1-2cm in diameter (approximately 0.5-1 inch) and have a smooth, grey-green surface with attractive darker speckles.
- Flowers: Produces small, tubular flowers on tall stalks. The flowers are usually white or pale pink and add a delicate touch to this charming succulent.
- Growth Habit: This Adromischus has a compact, clumping growth habit. It slowly forms clusters of button-like leaves, making it ideal for small pots or terrariums.
Care Tips
- Light: Bright, indirect light is best. Avoid intense direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves. A south- or west-facing window is ideal.
- Water: Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Water sparingly, especially during the winter months. Overwatering can lead to root rot.
- Soil: Use a well-draining succulent or cactus potting mix. You can also add perlite or pumice to improve drainage.
- Temperature: Maintain comfortable room temperatures between 18-24°C (65-75°F). Avoid exposing this succulent to cold draughts or temperatures below 10°C (50°F).
- Fertiliser: Fertilise once or twice during the growing season (spring and summer) with a diluted balanced fertiliser.
- Potting: Repot every 2-3 years as needed, using a slightly larger pot with fresh potting mix.

- This succulent can be propagated through leaf cuttings. Simply remove a healthy leaf, allow it to callus over, and then place it on well-draining soil. With patience, new plantlets will form at the base of the leaf.
