Adromischus marianiae 'Little Spheroid'
check_circle In Stock
Adromischus marianiae 'Little Spheroid' is a cultivated form of the species Adromischus marianiae, native to arid regions of South Africa and Namibia where it grows in rocky, mineral soils. This compact selection develops clusters of small, rounded leaves with a thick, textured surface that can range from green to brownish tones depending on light and stress. Its sculptural, spheroid leaf form gives it a distinctive appearance compared with other selections of the species. Mature plants may produce slender stems carrying small, tubular flowers, though foliage remains the primary ornamental feature.
Care Tips
- Light: Requires bright light to full sun to maintain compact, rounded leaves and to bring out surface colour variation.
- Water: Water sparingly and allow soil to dry completely between waterings; reduce further in winter.
- Media: Best grown in a sharply draining, gritty mix to avoid excess moisture around the roots.
- Fertiliser: Apply a weak cactus fertiliser during the warmer growing months.
- Temperature: Prefers warm, arid conditions; protect from frost and extended dampness.
- Repotting: Repot occasionally to renew soil and allow clumps to expand; propagation possible from detached leaves once callused.
