Adromischus marianae f. herrei 'Narrow Leaved Form'
check_circle In Stock
Adromischus marianiae f. herrei 'Narrow Leaved Form' is a cultivated selection of herrei, native to Namibia and South Africa where the species grows in rocky, arid terrain. This form differs from the typical by having elongated, narrow leaves that are thick, warty, and irregularly textured. Leaf colour ranges from grey-green to reddish-brown depending on light intensity and seasonal stress. Like other forms of the species, it produces slender inflorescences with small tubular flowers in pale green to white with purple tips, though its unusual foliage is the primary ornamental feature in cultivation.
Care Tips
- Light: Needs bright light to full sun to maintain compact growth and bring out reddish tones in the leaves.
- Water: Water lightly, allowing the soil to dry fully between applications; reduce further in cooler months.
- Media: Use a sharply draining, gritty mix to protect the roots from excess moisture.
- Fertiliser: Apply a diluted cactus fertiliser during active growth for healthy foliage development.
- Temperature: Prefers warm, arid conditions; protect from frost and avoid long periods of dampness.
- Repotting: Repot occasionally to refresh the substrate and separate offsets; propagation is possible from callused leaf cuttings.
