Agave isthmensis 'Ohi Raijin' Variegata is a striking variegated form of the compact *Agave isthmensis*, native to Oaxaca in southern Mexico. This rare cultivar, often referred to as the “Dwarf Thunder Queen,” forms a tight, geometric rosette that makes it particularly prized among collectors. Its charmingly small stature and cream-edged blue leaves lend it a bonsai-like elegance, ideal for container growing.
Distinctive Features
Variegated foliage: Leaves are edged in creamy-white to yellow, contrasting sharply with the glaucous blue-green centres.
Compact growth: Forms symmetrical rosettes no more than 15 cm in diameter, perfect for small spaces and decorative pots.
Armoured margins: Each leaf is edged with small, well-defined teeth and tipped with a cinnamon-coloured terminal spine.
Care Tips
Light: Thrives in bright, indirect sunlight or filtered full sun; some direct morning sun is beneficial.
