T.andreana is a very exotic-looking tillandsia rated by many as one of the most beautiful of all Tillandsias.
Andreana is a small compact species growing from 10 to 15cm across in a tight ball of fine needle-like leaves. The large bright red flowers appear once the plant matures, and the leaves blush red when flowering in brighter locations.
T.andreana is a tropical bromeliad from Colombia, growing between 1500-1700m above sea level in cloud forests. Protection from cold should be provided when growing this plant in southern climates.
