Albuca spiralis 'Frizzle Sizzle' is a cultivated form of the South African species Albuca spiralis. Like the species, it grows from a bulb and produces green, narrow leaves that curl into tight spirals, but this cultivar is especially valued for its pronounced and consistent coiling foliage. In spring, it sends up spikes of nodding, yellow flowers with green stripes, often with a light fragrance. As with the species, its natural rhythm follows a Mediterranean pattern of winter growth and summer dormancy.
Care Tips
Light: Needs bright light to full sun to encourage strong curling of the foliage.
Water: Water well during autumn and winter growth; allow the soil to dry out when dormant in summer.
Media: Use a sandy, sharply draining substrate to protect the bulb from excess moisture.
Fertiliser: Feed lightly during active growth with a balanced fertiliser to promote healthy leaves and flowering.
Temperature: Suited to mild winter conditions; protect from frost in colder climates by growing under cover.
Repotting: Repot at the beginning of the growth period, spacing bulbs to allow for offsets.

Biosecurity States (WA, NT, TAS): These orders require mandatory biosecurity treatment (PHC) and follow a specific weekly schedule:
Cut-off: Orders must be placed by Thursday 11:59 PM AEST.
Dispatch Day: Orders are processed over the weekend and dispatched on Tuesday.
Plant Health Certification (PHC) Fees:
$20 fee applies to WA orders.
$10 fee applies to NT and TAS orders. This fee is per order (not per plant) and is included in your shipping costat checkout.
