Alocasia 'Amazonica' Cv. Bambino is a captivating hybrid with deeply veined, arrow-shaped leaves that add an exotic touch to any space. Native to tropical regions, this compact cultivar is a smaller version of Alocasia 'Amazonica', making it perfect for limited spaces. Its dramatic foliage and striking contrast between deep green leaves and bright white veins make it a favourite among plant enthusiasts.
Distinctive Features
- Striking Foliage: The leaves are deep green with prominent silvery-white veins, creating an eye-catching appearance.
- Compact Growth Habit: Unlike its larger relatives, Bambino stays small, making it ideal for tabletops and shelves.
- Glossy, Arrowhead Shape: The elongated, narrow leaves have a sleek texture that enhances their visual appeal.
Care Tips
- Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves.
- Water: Keep the soil evenly moist but not soggy. Allow the top layer to dry slightly before watering.
- Humidity: Thrives in high humidity; misting or a humidifier can help maintain optimal conditions.
- Temperature: Prefers temperatures between 18-27°C. Protect from cold drafts and sudden temperature changes.
- Fertiliser: Feed with a balanced liquid fertiliser every 4-6 weeks during the growing season.
- Potting: Use well-draining, rich soil with good aeration to prevent root rot.
- Propagation: Best propagated by division during repotting.
Additional Notes
- The plant is toxic to pets and humans if ingested, causing irritation and swelling.
