Anoectochilus ‘Red Clouds’ is a jewel orchid grown primarily for its velvety foliage rather than its flowers. The deep green leaves are highlighted by bold, red to copper veining that becomes more intense under good growing conditions.

This is a terrestrial orchid well suited to indoor growing, terrariums, and warm, shaded positions where humidity can be maintained. While it is an orchid botanically, it behaves more like a forest-floor plant and is best treated as such.

Care

  • Light: Low to medium light. Bright indirect light is ideal; avoid direct sun.
  • Water: Keep evenly moist. Do not allow the pot to dry out completely.
  • Humidity: High humidity preferred. Excellent for terrariums or enclosed growing spaces.
  • Temperature: Warm to intermediate conditions. Protect from cold drafts.
  • Growing media: Free-draining but moisture-retentive terrestrial mix, often based on fine bark, coco fibre, and leaf litter.
  • Feeding: Light, regular feeding during active growth using a diluted orchid fertiliser.

Orders placed after these cut-offs will be dispatched on the next available day.

Plant Health Certification (PHC) Fees:

  • $20 fee applies to WA orders.
  • $10 fee applies to NT and TAS orders.

This fee is per order (not per plant) and is included in your shipping cost at checkout. It covers the mandatory biosecurity treatments (ICA-29, PS-27, ICA-62) required for interstate compliance.
