Astrophytum ornatum is a distinctive Mexican cactus valued for its bold rib structure, heavy white flecking, and strong golden to reddish spines. Each plant develops a sculptural, upright form that becomes more impressive with age.
This species is slow growing but long lived, rewarding patience with increasing size and character over time. Flowering occurs only on mature plants grown in strong light.
