Cattleya Alliance 'Snow White'

Cattleya Alliance Snow White is a hybrid within the Laeliinae subtribe, likely involving Cattleya or closely related genera. It is known for producing white to near-white flowers with broad, overlapping petals and a prominent lip that may show faint blushes of yellow or pink depending on conditions. Flowers are typically borne singly or in small clusters on upright inflorescences from mature pseudobulbs. Like others in the Cattleya alliance, it prefers bright light and benefits from a defined wet-dry rhythm.

• Light: Requires bright, filtered light. Morning sun is beneficial; avoid harsh midday exposure.
• Water: Water thoroughly, then allow the media to dry slightly before watering again.
• Humidity: Ideal range is 50–70%, with consistent airflow to prevent fungal issues.
• Media: Medium-grade bark or a Cattleya-specific orchid mix.
• Temperature: Thrives in intermediate to warm temperatures, around 15–28 °C.
• Fertiliser: Apply diluted orchid fertiliser every 2–3 weeks during active growth. Reduce in winter or dormancy.
• Repotting: Repot every 2 years or when medium decomposes, preferably just as new roots emerge.
