Cereus forbesii ‘Coral Cristata’ – Large Crested Specimen

Cereus forbesii ‘Coral Cristata’ is a selected crested form that produces dense, coral-like folds instead of ordinary upright stems. Its blue-green growth develops increasingly complex ridges and undulations as the plant matures.

These are well-developed collector plants growing in 100 mm square pots. They are considerably larger and more established than our standard 66 mm plants. Only two are available.

Every cristate plant develops differently. Crest width, shape, branching, colour and minor natural markings will vary between the two specimens.

Care

• Light: Full sun to very bright light. Introduce stronger direct sun gradually.
• Water: Water thoroughly during active growth, then allow the mix to dry before watering again.
• Winter: Keep considerably drier during cool weather.
• Temperature: Warm-growing. Protect from frost and prolonged cold, wet conditions.
• Media: Use a coarse, free-draining cactus mix.
• Fertiliser: Apply a diluted, low-nitrogen cactus fertiliser during active growth.
