Euphorbia decaryi 'The Dead Plant' is a captivating succulent that will add a touch of whimsy and intrigue to your plant collection. This unique species is native to Madagascar and is prized for its unusual zigzagging stems and textured appearance.
Distinctive Features
Stems: Thick, fleshy stems with a distinctive zigzag growth pattern. The stems are typically a grey-green colour with brown markings and have a bumpy, textured surface.
Flowers: Produces small, yellow flowers, but flowering is not common in cultivated plants.
Growth Habit: This Euphorbia has a low, spreading growth habit. It typically reaches a height of 10-15cm (4-6 inches) and forms a dense, textured clump.
Care Tips
Light: Bright, indirect light is best. While it enjoys some direct sunlight, intense afternoon sun can scorch the stems.
Water: Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Overwatering can lead to root rot, so it's important to be cautious.
Soil: Use a well-draining succulent or cactus potting mix. You can also add perlite or pumice to improve drainage.
Temperature: Maintain warm temperatures between 18-24°C (65-75°F). Avoid exposing this succulent to cold draughts or frost.
Fertiliser: Use a diluted succulent fertiliser once a month during the growing season (spring and summer).
Propagation: This Euphorbia can be propagated through stem cuttings. Simply remove a healthy stem, allow it to callus over, and then place it on well-draining soil. Roots will typically form within a few weeks.

Cut-off: Orders to WA, NT and TAS must be placed by Friday 7am (AEST) to be included in the following week’s dispatch.
Treatment & Delay: These orders require biosecurity treatment and certification, which is completed each Friday. Please allow an additional 1–2 weeks for processing.
Plant Health Certification (PHAC) Fees
$20 fee applies to WA orders.
$10 fee applies to NT and TAS orders.
