Cryptanthus bivittatus 'Ruby', commonly known as the Ruby Earth Star, is an eye-catching cultivar admired for its striking ruby-red foliage. Native to Brazilian rainforests, this compact plant offers a vibrant splash of colour and thrives effortlessly indoors.
Distinctive Features
- Foliage: Rosette-forming, flat leaves with vivid ruby-red and deep pink shades, accented by striking green and cream stripes.
- Growth Habit: Compact, typically growing up to 10-15 cm tall, forming dense clusters that spread around 15-20 cm wide.
- Flowers: Produces small, white flowers infrequently, emerging from the centre of the rosette, often overshadowed by the brilliant foliage.
Care Tips
- Light: Prefers bright, indirect sunlight; avoid direct sun exposure to prevent foliage scorching.
