Cymbidium Black Stump ‘Come In Spinner’ × Cymbidium suave is one of those crosses you grow for the lineage as much as the flower. I’ve run a few Black Stump lines before, and the colour is usually dependable—dark, heavy, and slow to fade. Suave brings the pendulous habit and that typical warm fragrance. These seedlings haven’t flowered yet, so what you get is the potential rather than a confirmed form, but the parent combination is strong. Flowering photos are from a previously flowered plant and are offered as an example of what to expect.

Care

  • Light: Bright filtered light or light morning sun.
  • Temperature: Cool to intermediate (around 10–25 °C).
  • Water: Keep evenly moist during active growth; allow a slight dry-down in winter.
  • Feeding: Balanced orchid fertiliser every two weeks in the growing season; reduce in cooler months.
  • Potting: Grown best in a coarse, free-draining Cymbidium mix for good aeration.
