Cymbidium 'Lime Fantasy'

Cymbidium 'Lime Fantasy' is a hybrid cultivar recognised for its refreshing green-toned flowers. Spikes are upright to slightly arching and carry numerous medium-sized blooms coloured in shades of lime to yellow-green. The lip provides contrast, often white to pale cream with red spotting or striping, which enhances the presentation. Flowering typically occurs in winter to spring, and the blooms are long-lasting both on the plant and as cut flowers.

Plants grow with the typical clumping habit of Cymbidiums, forming narrow, strap-like leaves from clustered pseudobulbs. 'Lime Fantasy' is valued for its unusual flower colour within the genus and its ability to produce multiple spikes when well grown, creating a dense display in containers.

Care Tips

• Light: Bright, indirect light; morning sun or soft afternoon light helps encourage flowering.
• Water: Maintain even moisture through the growing season; reduce slightly after flowering but do not allow the mix to dry out.
• Media: Use a coarse Cymbidium mix such as medium-grade bark with perlite or charcoal for aeration and drainage.
• Fertiliser: Feed every 2–3 weeks in active growth with a balanced orchid fertiliser; switch to a bloom booster as spikes form.
• Temperature: Suited to cool to intermediate conditions, with nights around 10–12 °C and days up to 25 °C; a cool night–warm day cycle helps with spike initiation.
