Cymbidium Red Pepper 'Janice' – Bold Red with White Margin

Cymbidium Red Pepper 'Janice' is a registered cultivar from the grex Cymbidium Red Pepper, bred from Cymbidium Ruby Eyes × Cymbidium Rolf Bolin. Registered in 1992 by Valley Orchids, this selection features deep red flowers with striking white margins and a broad, white lip faintly blushed pink. It is grown exclusively in pots and is well suited to cool to temperate climates, thriving under protected but bright conditions.

Care Notes

  • Position: Bright filtered light or gentle morning sun.
  • Water: Water freely in active growth; reduce slightly during winter dormancy.
  • Potting: Use only a free-draining orchid mix; do not plant in garden beds.
  • Feeding: Fertilise every 2 weeks in active growth; switch to bloom formula late summer.
  • Climate: Ideal for cool to temperate regions; protect from frost and extreme heat.
  • Repotting: Every 2–3 years after flowering or when pot becomes congested.

Shipping Schedule and Biosecurity Information

  • Dispatch Day: All orders are dispatched on Tuesdays.
  • Cut-off for Same Week Dispatch: Orders must be placed by Monday 7am (AEST) to be sent that week. Orders placed after this will be dispatched the following Tuesday.

WA, NT & TAS Orders

  • Cut-off: Orders to WA, NT and TAS must be placed by Friday 7am (AEST) to be included in the following week’s dispatch.
  • Treatment & Delay: These orders require biosecurity treatment and certification, which is completed each Friday. Please allow an additional 1–2 weeks for processing.

Plant Health Certification (PHAC) Fees

  • $20 fee applies to WA orders.
  • $10 fee applies to NT and TAS orders.
  • This fee is per order (not per plant) and is included in your shipping cost at checkout.
