Coelogyne cobbiana, formerly known as Dendrochilum cobbianum, is a charming miniature to small-growing orchid from the Philippines. It produces graceful arching spikes carrying many small cream to pale yellow flowers, often creating a soft, cascading display when mature.
This species is well suited to growers with limited space and performs particularly well in pots, baskets, or mounted culture where its pendant flower spikes can be appreciated.
Care
- Light: Bright filtered light. Avoid direct afternoon sun.
- Water: Keep evenly moist during active growth. Do not allow plants to remain dry for extended periods.
- Temperature: Intermediate to cool-growing; ideally 12–28°C.
- Humidity: Prefers 60–80% humidity with good air movement.
- Media: Fine orchid bark, sphagnum moss, or a moisture-retentive orchid mix.
- Feeding: Apply a balanced orchid fertiliser regularly during active growth.
