Dionaea muscipula 'Coquillage' - Venus Fly Trap
check_circle In Stock
Dionaea muscipula ‘Coquillage’ is a distinctive Venus Flytrap clone recognised for its compact growth habit, short marginal teeth, and traps that often remain partially cupped rather than opening flat.
This clone typically produces small to medium traps held close to the growing medium. Trap lobes commonly curve inward, giving the traps a shell-like or bowl-shaped appearance that sets this clone apart from standard Venus Flytraps.
Trap Form & Appearance
The defining feature of ‘Coquillage’ is its combination of reduced marginal teeth and persistent cupping of the trap lobes. Traps usually retain a recognisable Venus Flytrap form but rarely open fully flat. Trap shape and degree of cupping may vary between individual traps.
Colour Notes
Trap colour is generally green to lightly blushed, with interior colour developing under strong light. ‘Coquillage’ is grown primarily for its unusual trap form rather than intense colouration.
Growth Notes
Growth is compact and steady, with plants forming dense clumps over time. As with all Venus Flytraps, seasonal variation is expected, and trap size and shape may fluctuate slightly between active growth and cooler periods.
Please note: Traps may remain partially cupped even when fully developed. Images are representative of the clone type, and individual plants may vary in size and form.
