Dionaea muscipula 'Saw Tooth'
check_circle In Stock
Dionaea muscipula ‘Saw Tooth’ is a well-known Venus Flytrap cultivar characterised by its short, irregular marginal teeth rather than the long cilia seen on typical forms. The traps develop strong red coloration under high light, contrasting with bright green petioles.
This is a named clone, grown under controlled conditions and supplied as an established plant. Like all Venus Flytraps, it requires very bright light, pure water, and a seasonal winter dormancy to remain healthy long term.
Care
- Light: Full sun to very bright light. Strong light is essential for compact growth and red trap colour.
- Water: Rainwater, distilled, or reverse osmosis water only. Keep the pot sitting in shallow water during the growing season.
- Growing media: Nutrient-free carnivorous plant mix (typically peat and sand or perlite).
- Feeding: No fertiliser. Plants catch their own prey when grown outdoors.
- Dormancy: Required. Growth slows in winter, and older traps may die back — this is normal.
