Dischidia nummularia Dragon Jade (medium)
Every now and then a special plant appears on the market, Dragon Jade is one of these. First discovered around 2004 this variant of nummularia is unique and was kept a closely guarded secret until the last few years when a few plants were released on the world market. As it is very slow growing it has taken a long time before plants were for sale.
These plants are the first to be released by Paradisia. The plants available are approximately 10cm long and are divisions of imported plants.
Dragon Jade is relatively hardy but will not survive unprotected in southern winters so it should be kept indoors from late Autumn to mid Spring. Growth is very slow and plants often decide not to grow for months.
Plants require a good open mix similar to what most orchids prefer, the root systems are very simple and prefer to be shallow, in nature nummularia only grows on the bark of trees where mosses and ferns have established.
Plants purchased will be sent bare rooted as they will easily fall out of pots due to their small root system.
