Echeveria 'Astarensis' forms a neat rosette with broad, smooth green leaves edged in deep pink to red. The colour strengthens under bright light and cool conditions, giving a clear contrast between the green centre and coloured margins. A compact, symmetrical variety with excellent form and texture - ideal for small pots or feature groupings.
Care
Light: Bright light to full sun. Strong light produces the most vivid colour. Indoors, keep in a bright, airy position.
Water: Water thoroughly, then allow the mix to dry before watering again. Reduce watering during winter.
Media: Use a coarse, well-drained succulent mix. Avoid waterlogging or dense soils.
Temperature: Protect from frost; best grown above 7 °C.
Feeding: Apply a dilute fertiliser (about 25% of normal strength) monthly in active growth. Avoid high-nitrogen blends.
Repotting: Repot during the warmer months when roots fill the pot. Remove old leaves at the base if needed.
