Echeveria 'Hearts Choice'
Heart's Choice is a new cultivar with unusual lumps on the tips of each leaf that sometimes resemble small hearts. It is fully grown at 7-8cm and is a slow-growing plant. Once mature, it may produce offsets.
The plant should be placed in full sun or partial shade under cover and should only be grown in pots.
It must be kept out of the cold, winter rains as it can easily rot if it becomes too wet. Indoors, it should only be placed in very sunny positions or it may lose its nice shape and colour. It can be watered all year round, with the fastest growth occurring in the winter months.
Some varieties may produce tighter leaves in the summer to conserve moisture and slow down growth.
It should be fertilized with 25% of the recommended dosage monthly during the growing period. A fertiliser high in nitrogen may produce larger plants with less colour. The plant can be left to overgrow its pot or repotted in the warmer months in almost any well-draining potting mix.
