Echeveria Thriller Pearl – Dazzling Hues in a Compact Rosette
Echeveria 'Thriller Pearl' is a captivating succulent hybrid, likely originating from a cultivar lineage involving Echeveria perle von nurnberg. Native to Mexico and Central America, this plant is prized for its symmetrical rosettes that shimmer in hues of lavender, pink, and dusty rose. A favourite among collectors and designers alike, its subtle colour shifts under sunlight give it a jewel-like appearance.
Distinctive Features
- Rosette Form: Forms tight, symmetrical rosettes that can reach up to 15 cm in diameter.
- Colouration: Leaves exhibit a gradient of pink, lilac, and pearly tones, intensifying with sun exposure.
- Powdery Coating: A fine epicuticular wax (farina) covers the leaves, giving them a soft, frosted look and UV protection.
Care Tips

- Water: Water thoroughly when the soil is dry; avoid moisture sitting in the rosette to prevent rot.
- Humidity: Thrives in dry conditions; avoid humid environments.
- Media: Use a well-draining cactus or succulent potting mix.
- Temperature: Ideal range is 18–24°C; protect from frost below 5°C.
- Fertiliser: Feed lightly with diluted succulent fertiliser during active growth in spring and summer.
- Repotting: Repot every 1–2 years in spring to refresh soil and manage root growth.
Additional Notes
- Offsets may appear around the base and can be separated for propagation.
