Epiphyllum 'Old Vintage' is a hybrid orchid cactus cultivated for its delicate, pastel-toned blooms. Its stems are flattened and segmented, typical of epiphyllum hybrids derived from Central and South American species that grow in forested habitats. The flowers of this cultivar are broad and layered, with petals shaded in soft pink and white, sometimes blending into deeper pink towards the tips. The blooms are large and open widely, typically produced in the warmer months.

Care Tips

  • Light: Best grown in bright, indirect light; avoid prolonged exposure to harsh midday sun.
  • Water: Maintain even moisture during growth and flowering, allowing the top of the mix to dry slightly between waterings; reduce during winter.
  • Media: Use a coarse, well-draining medium enriched with organic matter.
  • Fertiliser: Apply a balanced fertiliser in spring and summer, switching to a potassium-rich formula prior to flowering.
  • Temperature: Suited to warm climates and should be protected from temperatures below 10°C.
  • Repotting: Repot every 2–3 years to refresh the medium and provide space for continued growth.

WA, TAS & NT: Thursday 11:59 pm cut-off for Friday treatment. Orders are generally prepared from Monday and dispatched by Thursday. Allow up to 10 working days for treatment, certification and processing.

Dispatch dates are not guaranteed and may be affected by biosecurity requirements, weather, public holidays, order volumes and plant preparation.

Express Shipping speeds up transit after dispatch only. It does not speed up processing, treatment or certification.

Biosecurity Fees:

  • WA & TAS: $20 per order
  • NT: $10 per order

Fees are included at checkout and help cover mandatory plant treatment and health certification.

Important:

Where certification is required, a physical address must be supplied for traceability. Delivery to a PO Box is still allowed.
