WA Restricted - Cannot be shipped to Western Australia.
Euphorbia flanaganii f. cristata is a crested form of this low-growing succulent species, recognised for its fan-shaped, undulating growth that replaces the usual radial stem pattern. The species is native to the Eastern Cape of South Africa, where it grows in sandy or rocky soils, often partially buried in open, arid environments. In this forma, the central caudex produces ridged, contorted crests instead of individual arms, resulting in a sculptural, flattened appearance. Small yellow cyathia may occasionally appear along the crest margins during warmer months, though flowering is less frequent than in the typical form.
Care Tips:
- Light – Needs bright indirect light or filtered sun; avoid intense overhead exposure to prevent sun scorch
- Water – Water sparingly; allow soil to dry completely between waterings
- Humidity – Thrives in dry conditions; requires good air circulation to prevent rot
- Media – Use a sharply draining cactus or succulent mix with added grit
- Temperature – Keep above 10°C; protect from cold and damp environments
- Fertiliser – Apply a diluted cactus fertiliser during active growth
- Repotting – Repot with care due to fragile cresting; only when rootbound
Additional Notes:
- Known to be toxic
