Euphorbia francoisii (WA Prohibited)
release_alert Low Stock - 1 available
Euphorbia francoisii hybrids are horticulturally developed crosses involving Euphorbia francoisii, a geophytic species native to southwestern Madagascar. These hybrids have been selected and bred for their diverse and often striking foliage, which may include combinations of green, silver, purple, pink, and mottled tones with wavy, undulate, or crinkled leaf margins. Like the species, they form a subterranean or partially exposed caudex and produce prostrate stems bearing persistent, leathery leaves. Flowering occurs during the growing season with small, greenish or yellow cyathia near the stem tips. These hybrids are popular among collectors due to their leaf variation and compact, manageable size.
Care Tips:
- Light – Prefers bright filtered light or gentle morning sun; too much direct sun can fade or scorch delicate leaf colours
- Water – Water moderately during active growth; reduce during dormancy, allowing the soil to dry completely
- Humidity – Best in dry to moderate humidity; provide airflow to prevent fungal issues
- Media – Use a fast-draining mix with coarse mineral components such as pumice or perlite
- Temperature – Maintain above 12°C; sensitive to frost and prolonged dampness
- Fertiliser – Feed with diluted cactus fertiliser during the growing period
- Repotting – Repot infrequently; handle with care to avoid damaging the caudex and leaf base
Additional Notes:
- Known to be toxic
