Euphorbia nesemannii

Euphorbia nesemannii is an unusual compact succulent Euphorbia that develops clusters of short, thick, ribbed stems. Older plants gradually form dense, many-headed specimens, with the lower stems becoming corky and woody with age.

The growth is quite distinctive, with green ribbed stems carrying small reddish-brown structures along the ribs. Mature specimens can develop into broad, heavily branched clumps, while younger plants begin as only a handful of stems.

Care

• Light: Grow in bright light to morning sun. Good light encourages compact, sturdy growth. Acclimatise plants gradually before exposing them to stronger direct sun.
