Euphorbia tirucalli 'Fire Sticks'
Euphorbia tirucalli 'Fire Sticks'
Aptly named due to the intense yellow and red growth on new tips. Fire Sticks is a small compact bush that can grow from 60 cm to 1.5 metres tall depending on conditions. Best colour occurs in winter and on spring growth.
Position - full sun or partial shade. Great in garder,s, borders, rockeries or pots. Indoors only in well-lit positions otherwise they will lose their nice shape and colour. Avoid frosts and protect in very cold climates.
Watering - can be watered over the warmer months and seldom if not at all in winter. Plants will survive without water for many months but will do better if watered all year.
Feeding - 25% of recommended dosage monthly in growing period. The less fertiliser, the better the shape of the plant. Fertilisers high in nitrogen can produce larger plants with less colour.
Repotting - can be left to overgrow their pots or repotted at in the warmer months in almost any well arained potting mix.
Caution - harmful if eaten. Skin & eye irritant. Handle carefully , to avoid exposure to white milk from damaged plants.
Wash hands after handling.
