WA Restricted - Cannot be shipped to Western Australia.
Euphorbia polygona is a spiny, columnar succulent species native to the Eastern Cape of South Africa, where it grows in arid, stony flats and slopes with excellent drainage. It forms upright, ribbed stems that are typically grey-green to bluish-grey, often covered in a powdery bloom. The ribs are sharply defined and lined with short, paired spines that emerge from hardened stipules. Over time, the plant forms small clumps or solitary columns depending on conditions. During the growing season, mature specimens may produce dark purple to nearly black cyathia near the tips of the stems.
Care Tips:
- Light - Requires full sun to partial sun; strong light helps maintain compact form and healthy colour
- Water - Water infrequently; allow soil to dry completely between waterings
- Humidity - Best grown in dry conditions with good airflow
- Media - Use a sharply draining cactus mix with added sand or pumice
- Temperature - Maintain above 10°C; protect from frost and excessive damp
- Fertiliser - Apply diluted cactus fertiliser during the active growing season
- Repotting - Repot every few years or when the plant becomes rootbound
Additional Notes:
- Known to be toxic
