Fittonias are colourful rainforest creepers that love to mix things up. One batch of cuttings can throw white, yellow, pink, green and red, from fine netted veins to broad colour panels. They crawl and root as they travel, take pruning in stride, wilt dramatically when dry and bounce back after a proper soak. Keep light soft, moisture even and the air warm and humid to keep patterns crisp.
Fittonia 'Firetail' glows with deep red leaves traced by darker, almost black-green venation. The foliage appears layered and dense, creating a smouldering look that earns its fiery name. Compact and eye-catching, it’s one of the bolder Fittonias for terrariums, pots, or shaded displays.
Care Tips:
- Light: Bright to moderate indirect light keeps the colour strong.
- Water: Maintain evenly moist soil; do not allow to fully dry out.
- Humidity: Thrives in high humidity, ideal for terrariums.
- Temperature: Keep warm between 18–24°C, protected from drafts.
- Fertiliser: Light monthly feeding during spring and summer growth.
- Repotting: Refresh potting mix when roots fill the container or growth slows.

Dispatch & Shipping Information
Non-Biosecurity States (QLD, NSW, ACT, VIC, SA): We now offer two dispatches per week for these regions:
- Tuesday Dispatch: Orders placed by Sunday 11:59 PM AEST.
- Friday Dispatch: Orders placed by Wednesday 11:59 PM AEST. Orders placed after these cut-offs will be dispatched on the next available day.
Biosecurity States (WA, NT, TAS): These orders require mandatory biosecurity treatment (PHC) and follow a specific weekly schedule:
- Cut-off: Orders must be placed by Thursday 11:59 PM AEST.
- Dispatch Day: Orders are processed over the weekend and dispatched on Tuesday.
Plant Health Certification (PHC) Fees:
- $20 fee applies to WA orders.
- $10 fee applies to NT and TAS orders. This fee is per order (not per plant) and is included in your shipping costat checkout.
