Fittonias are colourful rainforest creepers that love to mix things up. One batch of cuttings can throw white, yellow, pink, green and red, from fine netted veins to broad colour panels. They crawl and root as they travel, take pruning in stride, wilt dramatically when dry and bounce back after a proper soak. Keep light soft, moisture even and the air warm and humid to keep patterns crisp.
Fittonia 'Ruby Lips' displays elongated leaves splashed with bold ruby-red tones edged in deep green. The contrast between the central red zones and darker margins creates a strong patterned effect, with the foliage appearing almost banded.
Care Tips:
Light: Provide moderate to bright indirect light to keep foliage colour strong.
Water: Maintain evenly moist soil, allowing only the top layer to dry slightly between waterings.
Humidity: High humidity is preferred; regular misting or a nearby humidifier is beneficial.
Temperature: Best kept in warm conditions above 18°C, sensitive to cold drafts.
Fertiliser: Use a diluted liquid fertiliser every few weeks during the growing season.
Repotting: Repot into fresh mix when the plant outgrows its container or becomes woody at the base.
