Hoya carnosa ‘Grey Ghost’ - H233 - Monster Mature Specimen
release_alert Low Stock - 1 available
This is a monster-sized, mature specimen of Hoya carnosa ‘Grey Ghost’ - H233. It has a substantial crown of established growth and numerous exceptionally long vines spreading and trailing well beyond the hanging basket.
You will receive the exact plant photographed. The photograph gives some indication of its scale, but this is an extremely large plant that will require considerable room. Established ‘Grey Ghost’ specimens of this size are rarely offered and cannot be quickly replaced.

Silver Foliage
Hoya carnosa ‘Grey Ghost’ is grown for its unusual grey to near-silver foliage. The leaves can show faint veining, darker flecking and considerable variation in the amount of silver colouring.
This specimen includes leaves ranging from green-grey through to heavily silvered. New foliage may develop different levels of silver depending on light, temperature and growing conditions.
Flowers
‘Grey Ghost’ produces rounded clusters of soft pink flowers with deeper pink centres. The flowers can develop a sweet fragrance under warm conditions.
This specimen is sold as a mature plant and is not guaranteed to be flowering when purchased or dispatched. Any flowers or developing buds present at the time of sale may finish or drop naturally before the plant is supplied.
Mature Plant Condition
This is a genuine mature specimen rather than a recently produced display plant. It has older woody stems, bare sections of vine, previous growth points and natural variation across its extensive foliage.
Some leaves have age-related marks, discolouration, scarring or other cosmetic imperfections. These characteristics are visible in the photograph and should be expected in a plant of this age and scale. They do not detract from its value as an exceptionally large and established specimen.
Care
- Light: Bright, indirect light. Gentle morning sun can help maintain the grey and silver foliage tones.
- Water: Water thoroughly, then allow most of the potting mix to dry before watering again.
- Temperature: Best maintained between 18–30 °C with stable warmth.
- Humidity: Standard indoor humidity is suitable. Moderate humidity can support active growth and flowering.
- Potting mix: Use a chunky, airy and free-draining Hoya mix.
- Support: Allow the stems to trail or provide substantial support for climbing growth.
- Fertiliser: Feed lightly and regularly during active growth in the warmer months.
Transporting a Monster Specimen
We will pack this plant carefully, but vines of this length cannot be individually secured. Some leaf loss, displaced or tangled vines, cosmetic marking and minor stem breakage may occur during transport.
The plant will need to be unpacked slowly, and its vines will require careful rearranging after arrival. Please consider this before purchasing. Minor cosmetic or transport damage does not affect the established nature or long-term value of the specimen.
