check_circle In Stock
Hoya carnosa 'Indian Rope' (Dwarf Form) is a captivating epiphytic vine native to Eastern Asia and Australia. Celebrated for its tightly coiled foliage and fragrant, starry blooms, this compact cultivar remains petite in both length and leaf size, making it perfect for limited indoor spaces. Its botanical intrigue and ornamental appeal have made it a beloved favourite among houseplant collectors.
Distinctive Features
- Twisted foliage: Characteristic green leaves are thick, glossy, and deeply curled, forming a rope-like appearance along the stems.
- Compact growth: The dwarf form remains more contained than standard cultivars, with a reduced internodal length and overall size, ideal for hanging baskets and shelves.
- Porcelain blooms: Clusters of pale pink, waxy flowers emit a sweet fragrance, typically emerging during the warmer months.
Care Tips
- Light: Thrives in bright, indirect light; tolerates some direct sun but prefers protection from harsh midday rays.
- Water: Allow soil to dry out between waterings; overwatering may lead to root rot due to its succulent-like leaves.
- Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity; benefits from occasional misting, especially in dry indoor air.
- Temperature: Optimal range is 15–27°C; avoid exposure to cold drafts or temperatures below 10°C.
- Fertiliser: Use a balanced, water-soluble fertiliser every 4–6 weeks during active growth; reduce in winter.
- Potting: Well-draining mix is essential—combine orchid bark, perlite, and peat or coco coir for aeration.
- Propagation: Easily propagated by stem cuttings with nodes; rooting in water or moist sphagnum moss yields best results.
