Distinctive Features
- Leaves: Small to medium-sized, oval-shaped leaves with a deep green color and a slightly fuzzy texture. The leaves are typically compact and grow closely together.
- Flowers: Produces abundant clusters of star-shaped, pink flowers with a darker pink corona. The flowers have a sweet fragrance and often bloom repeatedly throughout the growing season.
- Growth Habit: This Hoya has a compact, vining growth habit. It can be trained to climb a small trellis or moss pole, or it can be grown in a hanging basket where its vines can cascade beautifully.
Care Tips
- Light: Bright, indirect light is ideal. Some direct morning or evening sun can encourage more frequent blooming.
- Water: Allow the soil to dry out slightly between waterings. Avoid overwatering, which can lead to root rot.
- Humidity: This Hoya appreciates moderate to high humidity. You can increase humidity by using a humidifier, placing the plant on a pebble tray, or misting the leaves regularly.
- Temperature: Maintain warm temperatures between 65-85°F (18-29°C) for optimal growth.
- Fertiliser: Use a balanced liquid fertilizer monthly during the spring and summer growing seasons.
- Repotting: Repot every 1-2 years as needed, using a well-draining potting mix.
