cancel Sold out
Hoya curtisii 'Thailand Form' is a slow-growing epiphyte native to Southeast Asia, particularly Thailand, Malaysia, and the Philippines. It is highly sought-after for its petite, round leaves densely patterned with silver mottling, forming a creeping or cascading mat ideal for terrariums or hanging displays.
Distinctive Features
- Foliage: Tiny, olive-green leaves with silvery flecks; semi-succulent and slightly puckered in texture.
- Flowers: Produces clusters of small, star-shaped flowers with a creamy-white corolla and a deeper coloured corona; delicately fragrant.
- Growth Habit: Compact and mat-forming, with stems that root at nodes when in contact with moss or substrate.
Care Tips
- Light: Thrives in bright, filtered light; protect from harsh midday sun which may scorch delicate foliage.
- Water: Water sparingly; allow the substrate to dry out between waterings. Reduce watering during cooler months.
- Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity; benefits from regular misting or placement near a humidifier.
- Media: Well-draining epiphytic mix with bark, perlite, and a small amount of coco coir or peat moss.
- Temperature: Ideal range is 18–26 °C; protect from temperatures below 10 °C.
- Fertiliser: Feed monthly during spring and summer with a diluted, balanced liquid fertiliser.
- Repotting: Repot every 2–3 years or when the plant becomes root-bound; choose a shallow pot with good drainage.
Additional Notes
- Flowering may be encouraged by providing consistent warmth, high humidity, and bright light.
- Excellent for terrariums, kokedama, or as a hanging specimen in smaller spaces.
