Hoya imperialis - H177 - Extra Large Specimen Plant

This is an exceptionally large and well-established specimen of Hoya imperialis - H177. It has substantial mature foliage, multiple strong vines and several active growing points. Plants of this species are seldom offered at anything approaching this size.

Large-Flowering Species

Hoya imperialis produces some of the largest individual flowers found within the genus. Its substantial waxy flowers are typically deep pink to red with paler centres and are carried in rounded clusters. The flowers can produce a noticeable sweet fragrance under warm conditions.

This specimen is not currently shown in flower and is sold as an established plant rather than a flowering plant. Flowering cannot be guaranteed at the time of sale or dispatch.

Mature Plant Condition

This is a genuine established specimen rather than a recently produced young plant. Large, mature Hoyas naturally develop marked leaves, older stems, bare sections of vine and other cosmetic imperfections over time.

Some leaves have age-related marks, discolouration or minor damage. These characteristics are visible in the photograph and should be expected in a plant of this size. They do not detract from its overall health, maturity or value as a difficult-to-replace specimen.

Care

• Light: Bright, indirect light. Gentle morning sun can support strong growth and flowering.
• Water: Water thoroughly, then allow most of the potting mix to dry before watering again. Avoid prolonged saturation.
• Temperature: Best maintained between 18–30 °C. This tropical species prefers stable warmth.
• Humidity: Moderate humidity supports its large foliage and developing flower buds.
• Potting mix: Use a chunky, airy and free-draining Hoya mix.
• Support: Provide a strong trellis or other support capable of holding its large leaves and vigorous vines.
• Fertiliser: Feed lightly and regularly during active growth in the warmer months.

Transporting an Extra Large Specimen

We will pack this plant carefully, but its exceptionally large leaves and long, rigid vines make minor transport damage possible. Some leaves may be marked or lost, and growing tips or sections of vine may be bent or damaged during transit.
