Hoya krinkle 'Giant' is a cultivated form of the classic krinkle-leaf wax plant, selected for its unusually large and deeply dimpled leaves. Like other Hoyas, it is native to tropical Asia and thrives in bright, filtered light. Its growth is vining and semi-succulent, making it an excellent trailing or hanging specimen.
Distinctive Features
- Oversized leaves: The foliage is notably larger than standard forms of Hoya krinkle, with pronounced puckering across the surface.
- Waxy white flowers: Umbels of star-shaped blooms appear in ideal conditions, exuding a sweet scent and featuring a soft pink corona.
- Trailing growth: Long vines will readily climb or cascade, making this Hoya suitable for trellises or baskets.
Care Tips
- Light: Prefers bright, indirect light; avoid harsh midday sun which may scorch the foliage.
- Water: Water thoroughly when the top 2–3 cm of soil has dried; allow to dry out more in cooler months.
- Humidity: Enjoys moderate to high humidity; misting or a pebble tray can be beneficial indoors.
- Media: Use a chunky, free-draining mix – orchid bark, perlite, and coco coir are ideal components.
- Temperature: Thrives between 18–28°C; protect from temperatures below 10°C.
- Fertiliser: Use a balanced liquid fertiliser monthly during active growth (spring to early autumn).
- Repotting: Best repotted every 2–3 years or when root-bound; ensure the pot allows for airflow and drainage.

Non-Biosecurity States (QLD, NSW, ACT, VIC, SA): We now offer two dispatches per week for these regions:
- Tuesday Dispatch: Orders placed by Sunday 11:59 PM AEST.
- Friday Dispatch: Orders placed by Wednesday 11:59 PM AEST. Orders placed after these cut-offs will be dispatched on the next available day.
Biosecurity States (WA, NT, TAS): These orders require mandatory biosecurity treatment (PHC) and follow a specific weekly schedule:
- Cut-off: Orders must be placed by Thursday 11:59 PM AEST.
- Dispatch Day: Orders are processed over the weekend and dispatched on Tuesday.
Plant Health Certification (PHC) Fees:
- $20 fee applies to WA orders.
- $10 fee applies to NT and TAS orders. This fee is per order (not per plant) and is included in your shipping costat checkout.
