Distinctive Features
- Leaves: Large, elliptical leaves with a deep green color and a slightly succulent texture. The leaves have prominent veins and a glossy finish.
- Flowers: Produces stunning clusters of pendant flowers that resemble upside-down bells. The flowers are typically white or pale pink with a darker pink corona and have a delightful fragrance.
- Growth Habit: This Hoya is a vigorous vining plant that thrives with a support to climb, such as a trellis or moss pole. It can also be grown in a hanging basket to showcase its cascading flowers.
Care Tips
- Light: Bright, indirect light is ideal. Some morning or evening sun can be tolerated, but avoid harsh midday sun.
- Water: Allow the soil to dry out slightly between waterings. Avoid overwatering, which can lead to root rot.
- Humidity: This Hoya prefers moderate to high humidity. You can increase humidity by using a humidifier, placing the plant on a pebble tray, or misting the leaves regularly.
- Temperature: Maintain warm temperatures between 65-85°F (18-29°C) for optimal growth.
- Fertiliser: Use a balanced liquid fertilizer monthly during the spring and summer growing seasons.
- Repotting: Repot every 1-2 years as needed, using a well-draining potting mix.
