Hoya obovata 'Variegata'
check_circle In Stock
Hoya obovata ‘Variegata’ is a striking, easy-growing form of the classic obovata, featuring large round leaves splashed with creamy variegation through the centre. This is a tough, adaptable indoor Hoya that handles bright conditions beautifully and develops a full, sculptural look as it grows.
Key Characteristics
- Foliage: Thick, circular leaves with bold mid-line variegation ranging from pale cream to soft lime green.
- Growth habit: Vigorous and hardy; grows into a beautifully rounded vine that suits hoops, trellises or hanging displays.
- Flowers: Produces classic pale pink Hoya blooms with darker centres once mature and well-lit.
- Helpful resource: To understand how foliage thickness relates to watering needs, see Understanding Hoya Roots.
Growing Conditions
- Light: Bright, indirect light is ideal. Variegation stays strongest with good light but avoid harsh midday sun.
- Water: Allow the mix to dry slightly between waterings. Thick leaves mean it prefers to dry out more than softer-leaf species.
- Humidity: Easily adapts to normal indoor humidity.
- Temperature: Warm-growing and very reliable indoors year-round.
- Helpful resource: For year-round adjustments, see Seasonal Hoya Care for Australian Growers.
Where This Hoya Works Best
