Hoya soidaoensis - H257
release_alert Low Stock - 1 available
Hoya soidaoensis is an uncommon climbing species native to the mountain forests of southeastern Thailand. It produces clusters of creamy yellow, finely haired flowers with contrasting pink-red centres.
This is a cooler-growing Hoya that appreciates consistent moisture, good airflow and protection from excessive heat. The flowering image is provided as a reference only; plants are not necessarily supplied in flower.
Care
- Light: Grow in bright, filtered light. Avoid strong afternoon sun, particularly during warmer weather.
- Water: Water when the potting mix approaches dryness. Do not allow the plant to remain completely dry for extended periods, but avoid constantly saturated media.
- Temperature: Best grown under intermediate conditions. Protect from frost and prolonged temperatures above approximately 30°C, especially while buds are developing.
- Potting media: Use an open, free-draining Hoya mix that retains some moisture while allowing plenty of air around the roots.
- Humidity: Moderate to high humidity is beneficial when combined with good air movement.
- Feeding: Apply a dilute, balanced fertiliser regularly during active growth.
- Support: Provide a small trellis or support for the climbing stems.
