Maihuenia poeppigii – Mature Specimen Plants
release_alert Low Stock - 1 available
Maihuenia poeppigii is an unusual branching cactus with persistent, narrow green leaves and prominent white spines. Mature plants develop thick, woody stems and spreading, sculptural growth that differs considerably between specimens.
These are established mature plants selected for their age, character and developed branching. Each available plant is individually photographed, allowing you to choose the exact specimen for your collection.
Plant Supplied
You will receive the exact Maihuenia poeppigii specimen selected. Please refer to the individual photographs when comparing plant size, branching, growth habit and overall form.
Care
- Light: Full sun to very bright light. Introduce plants to stronger direct sun gradually.
- Water: Water thoroughly when the potting mix approaches dryness during active growth. This species generally accepts more regular water than many desert cacti, but it should never remain waterlogged.
- Temperature: Naturally cold-tolerant, but potted specimens should still be protected from prolonged hard frost and excessive winter moisture.
- Potting Mix: Use a gritty, exceptionally free-draining cactus mix.
- Feeding: Apply a diluted, low-nitrogen cactus fertiliser during active growth.
