Mammillaria spinosissima ‘Pico Cristata’ is a crested form of this well-known species, producing dense, undulating growth that forms sculptural, brain-like shapes over time. Instead of growing as a single upright column, this form folds and curls, creating a compact and highly textured plant.
The surface is covered in tight, repeating tubercles with fine spines, giving the plant a soft yet structured appearance. Each specimen develops its own unique pattern as it grows, making no two plants exactly the same.
This cultivar has been developed by Paradisia Nurseries and chosen due to its almost lack of spines.
