Microsorum diversifolium, commonly known as the Kangaroo Paw Fern, is an Australian native fern recognised for its uniquely shaped, glossy fronds that resemble kangaroo paws. Adapted to a variety of conditions, this hardy fern is known for its resilience and ability to thrive in both indoor and outdoor shaded environments. Its trailing growth habit makes it an excellent choice for hanging baskets, elevated planters, and ground cover.

Care Tips:

  • Light: Prefers bright, indirect light but can adapt to lower light conditions.
  • Water: Keep the soil lightly moist but allow the top layer to dry slightly between waterings.
  • Humidity: Tolerates average household humidity but benefits from occasional misting in drier climates.
  • Media: A well-draining, organic-rich potting mix is ideal.
  • Temperature: Thrives in temperatures between 18°C and 26°C; avoid exposure to cold drafts.
  • Fertiliser: Feed with a diluted liquid fertiliser every 4-6 weeks during the growing season.
  • Repotting: Repot every 2-3 years or when roots begin to outgrow the container.

Non-Biosecurity States (QLD, NSW, ACT, VIC, SA): We now offer two dispatches per week for these regions:

  • Tuesday Dispatch: Orders placed by Sunday 11:59 PM AEST.
  • Friday Dispatch: Orders placed by Wednesday 11:59 PM AEST. Orders placed after these cut-offs will be dispatched on the next available day.

Biosecurity States (WA, NT, TAS): These orders require mandatory biosecurity treatment (PHC) and follow a specific weekly schedule:

  • Cut-off: Orders must be placed by Thursday 11:59 PM AEST.
  • Dispatch Day: Orders are processed over the weekend and dispatched on Tuesday.

Plant Health Certification (PHC) Fees:

  • $20 fee applies to WA orders.
  • $10 fee applies to NT and TAS orders. This fee is per order (not per plant) and is included in your shipping costat checkout.
