Neoregelia Tiny Tot ‘Claret’ Mini Hybrid Bromeliad
check_circle In Stock
This miniature bromeliad produces compact rosettes with foliage that develops rich claret tones under strong light. Originating from hybridisation within the Neoregelia genus, it retains the durability and growth habit of its larger relatives in a much smaller size. The compact form makes it well suited to terrariums, bromeliad trees, and other displays where space is limited.
Plants mature quickly and produce offsets freely, creating clumps over time. As with other Neoregelia, each rosette blooms once before passing growth on to its pups. The central water-holding cup should be kept topped with fresh water and flushed regularly to prevent stagnation, and higher light levels will bring out deeper colouration in the leaves.
Adaptable in cultivation, this variety grows well in free-draining pots or mounted on driftwood with sphagnum moss. It can be combined with other miniature bromeliads to create multi-layered arrangements, and maintains its foliage colour year-round when given consistent moisture and moderate feeding.
Care Tips:
- Light: Bright, filtered light; stronger light deepens claret colouration.
- Water: Keep the central cup filled with fresh water; flush regularly.
- Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity but adapts to indoor conditions.
- Media: Use a free-draining bromeliad mix or mount with sphagnum moss.
- Fertiliser: Apply very dilute liquid fertiliser into the cup or to the roots during active growth.
- Temperature: Maintain between 15–28 °C; protect from frost.
- Repotting: Remove and pot offsets when they reach one-third to half the size of the parent rosette.
