Nephrolepis cordifolia 'Duffii'

Duffii is a attractive fern with very narrow fronds and small round leaves and a compact growth habit that makes it well suited for indoor use in planters and terrariums. They will also do very well in pots. Duffii is a hardy fern but requires regular watering if kept in warmer draughty areas.

In terrariums very little water is needed. Duffii is moderately slow growing but will require some cutting back so it can be kept small and compact for long periods.

Water well if kept in pots but sparingly in terrariums; potting mix should be allowed to almost dry between waterings. Keep in a bright well-lit area or provide artificial light. Avoid heaters and draughty positions. Fertiliser should be only used if you would like the plant to grow. Lack of fertiliser will keep plants shorter and more compact. Temperatures above 20 deg C will speed up growth, between 15 and 20 deg C growth will be extremely slow and plants can be pruned to keep compact. Dead leaves must be removed to prevent damage to healthy growth. Keep on the dry side in winter.
