Yi Ying Morning Sun is already known for producing richly coloured flowers, but this particular plant stands out even within the grex. The flower displays a broad, well-formed dorsal sepal saturated with deep rose-pink tones, balanced by heavily marked petals and a dark burgundy pouch. The flower is held cleanly above the foliage and presents exceptionally well from every angle.
We do not normally make claims about award potential, but this is one of those plants that causes people to stop when they walk past it. The shape is balanced, the colour is strong, and the overall presentation is exactly what many Paphiopedilum collectors spend years looking for.
