Peristeria elata – Holy Ghost Orchid
cancel Sold out
Peristeria elata, commonly known as the Holy Ghost Orchid or Dove Orchid, is one of the most famous orchid species in cultivation. Its large, fragrant white flowers contain a remarkable dove-shaped structure within the bloom, making it one of the most distinctive and sought-after species among orchid collectors.
The plants offered are mature, well-established specimens with substantial pseudobulb development. Some leaves display cosmetic marks, blemishes, or spotting accumulated through normal growing conditions and age. These imperfections are purely cosmetic and do not affect the health, vigour, flowering ability, or long-term performance of the plant.

Why Collectors Grow It
Peristeria elata is not simply grown for its flowers but for the extraordinary structure hidden within them. The distinctive dove-shaped centre has fascinated orchid growers for generations and gives the species its common name. Large flowering specimens are rarely offered, as the plant requires several years to reach maturity and considerable space to develop into a specimen-sized clump.
