Pfeiffera boliviana (syn. Rhipsalis boliviana) - Mistletoe Cactus

Pfeiffera boliviana, synonym Rhipsalis boliviana, is an epiphytic cactus native to the Yungas region of Bolivia, where it grows in humid montane forests. It anchors to tree branches or occasionally rocky surfaces, receiving filtered light and regular moisture from the surrounding environment.

The plant produces slender, cylindrical stems that are bright to mid-green and may have slight ribbing or subtle segmentation. Stems can grow upright when young before arching or trailing with age, forming cascading growth well suited to hanging displays. Small areoles are spaced along the stems, each producing fine, short bristles.

Flowering occurs in spring to summer, with small, funnel-shaped blooms that are white to pale pink. These are followed by spherical, translucent white to pinkish berries. In cultivation, its ease of growth and attractive trailing habit make it a desirable species for collections of epiphytic cacti.
