The stems are slender and covered in small, scale-like leaves arranged in a flattened, fern-like pattern. Growth is dense and spreading, with upright tips giving a slightly tufted appearance. This plant does not produce flowers, as Selaginella reproduces via spores rather than seeds, and it maintains a lush, evergreen appearance under the right conditions.

In cultivation, 'Jori' prefers consistent warmth, high humidity, and evenly moist conditions. It is well suited to terrariums, shaded greenhouse benches, or indoor displays in areas protected from cold and direct sun. Prolonged dryness or low humidity can cause browning of the foliage tips.
